Do you want to make a difference to your community? Do you like spending time with people? Are you kind, caring, reliable and responsible?
Carers often find their own well-being is affected due to the pressure of caring, so having a regular short break can make all the difference. The South Glos 'Breaks for Carers' Sitting Service is looking for people who can offer 2-3 hours of their time, (normally during the day on a weekday) weekly or fortnightly to spend with a cared-for person so their carer can take a break. You’ll have induction, training and support, with paid travel expenses. We also have social events for volunteers. We’re looking for men and women over 18.
The Carers’ Support Centre provides support, information and advice to carers living in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. For more information about this role, please contact Marilyn Crump, Sitting Service Coordinator for an informal chat.

Could you spare some of your precious time to help us reach more people in need living in your community? We are facing an unprecedented demand for our Befriending service across the county and one of your neighbours may be in need of help.
Befriending is simple but very rewarding. Our volunteers pop in for a chat once a week for around an hour and talk about everything and anything. It is simple but means so much to the older person.
Our volunteers benefit from the visits as much as our clients. You can help to change the lives of local people and make sure no one has no one. Please get in touch for more information.

Volunteer and help out in our friendly shop to raise funds for the fight against heart disease.
We have roles in our warehouse where you can keep fit, stay healthy and have a laugh whilst working hard.
Alternatively you can volunteer behind the busy cash desk if you prefer socialising with people, providing great, light-hearted customer service and like to be organised.
We have other smaller roles, can offer flexible timings to suit your availability, offer hot drinks and snacks to all our volunteers and have a monthly social volunteers' quiz too.
