It will strengthen the links between voluntary sector representatives and the groups they represent, provide a focus for consultations with statutory bodies, facilitate the two-way flow of information between the voluntary sector and the statutory sector, and provide an opportunity for voluntary sector organisations to meet, discuss, share expertise and decide on how to progress on key issues.

Rotary Concert: Kenny Ball and His Jazzmen
The Hexagon Theatre, King's Oak Academy, Kingswood BS15 4JT

Rotarians around the world are collectively working towards eradicating the dreadful disease Polio from the world. Since 1985, Polio eradication has been Rotary's priority, with the result that the number of notified new cases worldwide in 2011 totalled just over 500.

Along with grants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation the total joint funds raised since 2007 is now over $600million (usd) for direct immunisation of children in the worst remaining areas in the world.

The complete elimination of the poliovirus is difficult and will continue to be so for a number of years. Hence the fund raising continues and five local Rotary Clubs are promoting a concert. Kenny Ball's jazz is enjoyed the world over and for him to come to Kingswood to entertain is a brilliant achievement by the Rotary Clubs involved for the eradication of Polio.

Tickets are only £17.50 each and the Rotarians will set up a cash bar serving real ales, wine and soft drinks. The concert is a real bargain for jazz lovers being able to enjoy Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen for £17.50 each outside the centre of Bristol. The venue is a good sized comfortable concert hall inside the new Kings Oak Academy in Kingswood.

Tickets can be purchased by sending a stamped self addressed envelope and cheque to Yate Rotary, PO Box 1141, Yate, BS37 6YA or contact by email below or phone 01454 316392 or from members of the Rotary Clubs of Fishponds & Downend, Keynsham, Keynsham Chew Valley, Kingswood and Yate.
